I met an angel…
I met an angel my first day in this world. I was delivered into the arms of a woman who was there to nurture me, to love, to guide and teach, to protect and eventually let go of my hand as I was turned onto the pathway I was meant to follow.
I met another angel who would be a provider for me, often carry me and teach many lessons and he lived the most wonderful example of generosity and loyalty.
I met some angels who were brothers and sisters to me. They taught and they learned, how to share and play fair, showed that words can hurt, and demonstrated how important a united front is when you are at your weakest moments.
I met many angels, aunts and uncles and neighbors and friends, who made me feel special in many ways; a nickname, a conversation, and even sometimes, a reprimand.
I met angels who were teachers, coaches, mentors. They offered encouragement and showed that even amongst a group of many, every single person has something to contribute and each one will offer up their own individual gift to share.
I met an angel who was a mother to me when I had none. Support, advice, insights, hugs and laughter were gifts bestowed upon me when I was most in need.
I met and angel who became a partner in family, in parenting, in bringing precious new gifts to the world and who was always there to support and share this assignment.
I met angels that I was allowed to deliver into this world. They taught the beautiful and awe inspiring gift that is life, taught responsibility and selfless love, and showed that life is a cycle and a journey that leads down many different roads.
I have crossed paths with many angels, some I couldn’t see and was totally unaware of. It was to remain unknown to me, the the effect they had in my life as we shared a moment in time.
Thank you, God, for providing these angels in my life, each who added such rich and colorful threads that helped to weave this wonderful tapestry that illustrates my life.
