We can’t help but see that we have come into the “Season of Construction”. It seems that every road we take is torn up for repair, often causing slow-downs and detours.
It can be so frustrating when we come upon a detour that is placed in the middle of our path. Though detours are there to guide us off our path to an alternate route, they always lead us back to our road.
The eventual goal of course, is to smooth the pathway, level out the unevenness, and create a road that is more easily traveled on, so that we might get to our destination more easily.
They have arrows and directions that lead around the unusable path, but often, we tend to resist following the directions.
They may be for our safety, but if we find them inconvenient, we may choose not to follow the arrows.
This usually doesn’t work out so well for me, “going my own way”. I find that straying off the suggested path leads me further away from my road and takes more time and more energy and almost always leads me away from the calmness and peacefulness I try to maintain during my travels.
We should not to let the bumps and breaks in the road, or the twisting detours lead us off the pathway or take our sight off our destination. “UNDER CONTRUCTION” doesn’t only apply to our road destinations, it also applies to our LIFE destinations. Don’t let the detours prevent you from getting to your destination whether it be on the road, or in your life.
