I am grateful to the LORD for showing me the pathway that leads back home to our FATHER.
It is a narrow pathway, and difficult to navigate, especially when blocked by opposing forces that intend to prevent my successful navigation to home.
My life experiences help bring to mind a perfect analogy that displays this truth in the most simple form.
When ‘Home Plate” is brushed clean before each batter, it symbolizes the task placed before every one of us that stands up at the plate. You alone, stand against the opposition with the end goal: to MAKE IT HOME.
“Home” has been swept clean so that I might see a pathway through all distractions, hinderances and obstacles.
The goal is to made it back to HOME after surpassing these challenges and obstacles. We all must have the perseverance to continue on the base-path until we successfully make it all the way home.
The opposition may be stronger, may be faster, may have tricks and methods that prevent the successful circumference of the pathway.
It has never been an easy task, making it all the way back to HOME.
Few are successful on the first attempt.
Sometimes we walk, Sometimes we make it to 1st, 2nd or 3rd. Sometimes we are left standing there, stranded.
Or we may find ourselves running full out in an attempt to get just a bit further along on the pathway.
There may be times when we awkwardly approach home, flat on our faces in a plume of dust, but all the while reaching and stretching to just grab onto the edge of the plate and make it safely HOME.
There are truths and lessons learned in this simple game we teach our children.
Get back in the game every time you get the chance. Sometimes you help move people forward, Other times they move you forward. Listen to the COACH who is there to help you in your attempt to get back home. We all have failures, even when we try our hardest.
Everyone wants to make it home, but are we willing to give our “everything” to get there, every single time we are at bat?
