Today as I raised my face to the sunrise of a new day, I was reminded that each day we need to
EXERCISE our MIND, BODY and SPIRIT in order to thrive in this world.
MIND
There are so many wonderful ways that we can exercise our minds
By reading a biography of someone who overcame many obstacles to achieve greatness
Visiting a museum that teaches the wonders and discoveries of the universe
Study the stars and planets and contemplate the fact that this was how our ancestors navigated the world for centuries
Study a historical period that changed the world,
Read the constitution
Take apart a mechanical device and try to figure out how it works
Study nature and learn the Fibonacci sequence of ratio.
Open your mind to new and wonderful experience and information.
BODY
We can exercise the body in so many ways, there are endless possibilities.
Walking, running, riding, raking, planting, paddling, stretching, balancing, and anything that causes us to breathe deeply, move the blood, muscles and bones.
The body also needs to be nourished and recharged by real energy-producing food, restful sleep and relax time.
If we see our body as the vessel that houses our spirit, we know that it is a sanctuary, and we need to treat it respectfully, in ways that show we honor our muscles, bones, circulation, immune system, and all of the miraculous operations at work in our living being.
Treat your body to healthy new food, breath deeply, and push your physical experiences out of your comfort zone.
SPIRIT
Exercising the spirit is such an individual activity. We all have a separate direct line to GOD and it will be a different conversation and course of action for each of us.
Listening “IN SPIRIT” and following the direction is a daily exercise that keeps our spirit happy, healthy and tuned in.
You can exercise the spirit in simple ways; to smile, offer a hand, show gratitude, spread a little of your light to others, be gracious and brotherly to everyone.
Sometimes we exercise our MIND or BODY or SPIRIT in marathons and long term workouts.
Sometimes it’s an impulsive action.
Everyone has their own way.
Have a great day and take time to exercise your Mind, Body & Spirit.
I’m on my way to exercise now!
